Homero Hector Eguia, born on August 20, 1968, in Dilley, Texas, was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend to many. His journey through life came to an unexpected end on November 4, 2025, in San Antonio, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication that will be profoundly missed.
For 28 years, Homero devoted himself to the medical field, most recently at Frio Regional Hospital where he was an ER Technicial Clerk. His career was marked by compassion and commitment, reflecting his desire to help others in their most vulnerable moments. Whether comforting a patient or assisting a colleague, he approached his work with kindness and grace that resonated throughout the hospital community.
Homero's life was enriched by the love he held for his family. He was the proud son of Evelia M. Eguia and the late Hector Eguia. His siblings, Adrian Eguia (Patricia), and Zelda Eguia, together with their children, brought him immense joy. His heart was especially full when surrounded by his beloved nieces and nephews: Ariana, Amanda, Christopher (and his wife Melanie), Leahla, Lehnoir, and Raphael. Each moment spent with them created cherished memories that will forever remain alive in their hearts.
His spirit lives on in the echoes of laughter and the warmth of family gatherings, where stories of his kindness and spirit will be shared among those who knew him. He joins in eternal rest his father and niece, Sierra Ashley Marquez.
Homero's sudden departure leaves a void that cannot be filled. His presence was a light in the lives of many, and while his absence is deeply felt, his legacy of compassion, dedication, and love will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know him. As we remember Homero Hector Eguia, let us celebrate the moments we shared and the love that he so freely gave.
