I have known Horace for over 35 years. While he was my boss he was also a good friend. My memories include many business trips in various parts of the US, his hilarious interaction with my, "piece of work" mother-in-law, attending my daughter´s wedding and several fishing trips on the eastern shore of Virginia. I was so blessed to have the opportunity to say "Good Bye" before he left us. Horace made an impression on many people and will be missed. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear this. Worked with Horace in our early careers as programmers at UVB. Always found him energetic and positive with a smile on his face. A wonderful man who loved life. My condolences to his family.

A great guy gone too soon. I had the opportunity to work with Horace at UVB and Crestar-solving HR challenges. My deepest sympathies to the family.

I am so sorry to hear that Horace has passed. Horace, Mary and I were part of a larger than life group of young people in the late'70s that all worked at United VA Bank together. We had beers after work and played on softball teams, but mostly had each others back. Horace was friends with everyone and always had a smile. My sincere condolences to the Allen family. Love, Vera Birdsong Poske

A beautiful and loving tribute to Horace. Know he will certainly be missed by his family and friends. He was truly "one of a kind" and a very talented man in so many ways. Enjoyed him at the bank, first as a colleague and then as our boss. My heart goes out to all of you during this very difficult time.
