Hobbies: Played basketball for several Columbus leagues. Liked grilling, cooking out for family, and traveling.
Jobs: Daniel worked hard and had several jobs. He took pride in his work and believed that "if you can't do it right, don't do it at all" his many jobs, just to mention a few: Timken roller bearing, Heers Printing, Dresser Ideco buckeye steel second jobs included, supervisor at united building cleaning services, Columbus eastside security guard. He retired from Columbus City Refuge after 27 years. He received several recognition awards of excellence, employee of the month etc.
Daniel received Christ at a young age, was baptized and married by the late William Stevenson, founder of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church which later became New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist church where under Pastor Marcus L Martin he served as a faithful deacon until his illness.
He was predeceased by his mother Ellen Mae Moody, Father Daniel Tucker Travis Sr. Brothers, Donald, Ellis & Fred Travis, Charles, and William Banks.
He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 67 years, Juanita Travis, Children, Dannetta Lynn (Travis) Williams, Ellis Tucker Travis, Cheryl Marie (Travis) Jones, Tony Leonard Travis. 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one on the way. Sisters, Catherine M. Clark, Ella L. Keaton and a host of nieces and nephews.
