In memory of
Woody De Blasio
September 9, 2025
From Woody:
Howard was our off campus roomate at Duquesne University. It was one of my most memorable years of my life. We enjoyed the guiding wisdom of Howard each day which helped me understand the world because he had all the answers. Howard had this special way he could share enthusiasm of life with anyone- he gave so many free Beach Boy concerts and he would always make people discover the positives of life. Howie was, is, and will always be a highlight of my life´s memory.

I am very sorry for your loss! My path would intersect Howard´s off and on over the years and he always had a kind word for me. He had a one of a kind personality. I know he will be missed by many. Sending prayers to the family.

Howie and I spent alot of time in and out of school with Kim &Penny. Driving around in Kriebels car, laughing, just doing dumb stuff. He was such a funny guy, with the skinniest legs I ever saw, a very unique walk, white sweater, collared shirt underneath, black sneaks, jeans. He teased me alot about my dates. I hadn't seen him much after school, maybe once a year at a gathering or reunion, but my school days were more laughter because of him. Thanks Howie.

Howard's obituary most certainly reflects the man himself, filled with good humor with a side of sarcasm. His love and knowledge of music nearly rivaled my own. Had I known he would be leaving this soon, I would have made a much better effort to share his company these last several years. I am eternally proud to have his son Robert as my son-in-law. I extend deepest condolences to the entire Algeo clan on behalf of myself and Melody Higgins.

I had the privilege of acting in several shows with Howard at DCP. When Howard was in a show, the green room was often more entertaining than the show itself! Lots of laughter and music trivia. Howard also wrote a musical version of the murder mystery. What a warm, funny guy.

Loved Howie´s beautiful, infectious smile. I will never forget his insistence that he would have followed in the footsteps of Ann and James, winning the Outstanding Student award at Upper Dublin(?)if ONLY they hadn´t moved to Perkasie and robbed him of the opportunity! It was such a blessing and a privilege to live beside all seven Algeo Kids!

This is such sad news. I met Howard @ DCP Theatre where he starred with my husband, Al Benelli in The Odd Couple. Howard was funny, witty, clever and charming. He was a great actor, but mostly he was kind. The world has lost a very good man. He will be sorely missed.

Rest in peace, Howard. I don´t know you or your family, but your obituary is probably the greatest one that I have ever read. It made me laugh and smile. Condolences to the family, he must have been a great guy.
