Howard Charles Naylor, 87 years old, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, in Raleigh, North Carolina, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on July 15, 1938, in Brooklyn, New York, Howard was a beacon of strength and kindness throughout his life, touching the hearts of all who knew him.
Howard's journey began as the cherished son of the late Howard F. and Anna Misiewicz Naylor. His unwavering love and dedication were most evident in his marriage to his beloved wife, Jo-Ann Maxwell Naylor. Their union was a testament to enduring love, having celebrated 62 years of marriage filled with mutual respect, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
A proud father, Howard is survived by his daughters, Vickie-Ann La Luna and her husband Stephen, and Suzanne Domnisch and her husband Richard. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Emily Domnisch, Anthony La Luna, Vincent La Luna, Angelina La Luna, and Samantha Domnisch, who will forever hold dear the wisdom and love he imparted. Howard also leaves behind his brothers, Kenneth Naylor and his wife Denyse, Edward Naylor, and his sisters, Diane Wirth and Adrianne Pilewski, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends who were all an integral part of his life's journey.
Howard honorably served his country as a US Navy Veteran aboard the aircraft carrier USS Lake Champlain (CV-39) before dedicating his career to public service as a Police Officer for 25 years with the NYPD. His commitment to the safety and well-being of others was unwavering and deeply respected.
Beyond his professional life, Howard was an avid collector, his passion for coins, stamps, and cards was more than a hobby; it was a window into the history and stories he cherished.
