Howard Ray Sheets Obituary
Mr. Howard Ray Sheets, 86, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025 at his home in Clemmons surrounded by his family. He was born January 3, 1939, along with his twin brother, Harold, to Charlie Lee Sheets and Luna Craft Sheets. Howard graduated from Southwest High School where he played basketball and drove a bus. Howard worked for R.J. Reynolds for 26 years, retiring in 1990. He was a devoted member of Lewisville Baptist Church until his stroke in June of 2024. He and Sandra enjoyed several bus trips over the years and loved watching the Atlanta Braves. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Sandra Johnson Sheets; a sister, Betty Johnson of Lewisville; and his children, Paula Todd and Gary Sheets (Tena). He is also survived by four grandchildren, David Todd, Brianna Millikan (Tanner), Zach Todd and Logan Sheets; as well as two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Camden. Howard is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. at Lewisville Baptist Church with Gary McDonald and Alvin Garrison officiating. The family would like to send a special thank you to Howard’s caregivers, Ieshia, David, Trinity, Shy, Isabella, Kyhah and Lewanda as well as the WellCare Hospice Team.
