Betsy, i just learned of Howell's passing. I know how very much he and Hazel loved each other and now, though he will very much be missed by family and friends, their reunion will be joyful. I loved Hazel as a sister and was happy for her marriage to Howell. Love, hugs and prayers to friends and family during this time of your loss. Betsy

Dear Betsy.
My sincerest condolences on the passing of your father. As you know, Howell and I worked together on many matters and projects since the 1970's. His family always came first and he was a true friend. He will be missed. God bless and keep you during this difficult and sorrowful time.
Please pass this along to Steve and the grandchildren.

Betsy, Steve and extended family. Howell was my my firms' and my personal account for many years. More important, he was a friend with whom I had many pleasant conversation. And, I can't close without mentioning the delicious peanut brittle that for so many years arrived each Christmas. Good memories! You are in our prayers.

So sorry for the family's loss. No words can ever express the loss of a loved one. May all of you find comfort and peace in all the loving memories you've shared together. Please be comforted in knowing that God understands your grief and he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:6,7)

Charles and Betty Kerans express their deepest sympathy to the family of Howell William Branch on the passing of their father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. I first met Howell when we worked at Burlington Industries in Greensboro. Later when Howell went into private practice to form Branch and Company, CPA, he and Hazel encouraged me to study and pass the CPA exam. I can say I would never have become a CPA without their encouragement. When Burlington Industries was sold in the late 1980's, I became unemployed. I called Howell and he offered me a change to come and work for him. Without this opportunity, I don't know where I would have been today. Because of the experience I gained working for Howell, it helped me in my professional, family and personal life. So thank you Howell. Betty and I will be eternally grateful.

To. The family of Howell and Hazel Branch

Larry and I are so sorry for your loss. We are neighbors of some time ago, on Broadmoor Place. You all were always so nice to us and we remember your Mom and Dad with affection.

Your Dad always delighted his neighbors with homemade peanut brittle every Christmas! It was delicious.

We had a little dog that liked to bark at everybody...well, not quite everybody. Your Mom laughingly pointed out that he didn't bark at her, only Howell.

Memory isn't serving me very well about your Dad and one of our favorite restaurants, Lucky 32. I know that he recommended it to us. I think that he had something to do with its establishment. Since he didn't brag about his accomplishments, I don't really know about the connection.

May you also celebrate your own happy memories and take pride in the fact that your parents were such a blessing to those who knew them.

Sincerely,
Barbara Avery
