Hsueh Chen

Hsueh Shien Chen (Chinese name: English name: Stewart Chen), born on November 30, 1949, in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, at Ascension Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas, at the age of 76.

Stewart dedicated his professional career to the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre, where he began as a staff member and later retired as Human Resources Manager. Known for his integrity, fairness, and compassion, he consistently advocated for the well-being of those he worked with and earned deep respect from colleagues and subordinates alike. In 1991, his family immigrated to Austin, Texas; due to work commitments, Mr. Chen remained in Taiwan for many years. After retiring in 2002, he moved to the United States permanently to reunite with his family and spent his later years in Texas, cherishing time together.

He enjoyed making friends and spending time playing mahjong and traveling with family and friends. He also had a deep passion for gardening and continually sought to learn more about cultivating trees and flowers, finding peace and fulfillment in nurturing plants and nature. Family was always at the center of his life. He delighted in gatherings with loved ones and took great joy in being a grandfather. His warmth, gentle smile, and thoughtful guidance will forever remain in the hearts of his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn Chen; his sons, Chang Wei Chen and Chang Kai Chen; his grandsons, Jayden Yubo Chen and Mason Yuting Chen; and his sisters, Diana Shen, Shueh Lin Lee, and Hsueh Jane Chen. He was preceded in death by his father, Yung Tong Chen; his mother, Chin Pi Chen-Lee; and his brother, Hsyueh Sheng Chen.

A family and friends open-casket viewing will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, at Beck Funeral Homes, located at 1700 E. Whitestone Blvd, Cedar Park, TX 78613.
