Hubert Nartaro Wearing Sr.

Hubert Nartaro Wearing, Sr., 57, of Waterbury, Connecticut, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love, and deep devotion to his family and community.

He was a proud graduate of James Hillhouse High School, Class of 1986, in New Haven. In his early years, he worked at West Haven Lumber and Institutional Professional Practice (IPP). He went on to dedicate 33 years of service to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where his hard work, reliability, and warm spirit touched countless lives. He was a true and dedicated NFL Jets and NBA Celtics fan, cheering for both teams with unwavering passion. He was also known for his distinctive sense of style, especially his love for Polo clothing and his extensive collection of Jordan sneakers, which he wore with pride.

He is survived by his beloved son, Hubert Nartaro Wearing, Jr., his greatest pride and joy. He is also survived by his father, Raymond Brandon; brother, Gregory Wearing, Sr. (Charzette); and four sisters, Rene Sanders, Shelene Wearing, Rachel Brandon, and Monica Brandon Richardson, all of whom cherished him deeply.

His life was further enriched by seven nephews, Keith, Jr., Gregory, Jr., David, Jr., Erik, Jr., Charles, Robert, Jr., and Willie, Jr.; and six nieces, Movita, Kita, Dayona, Foxie, Chelsea, and Aliyah. In addition, he leaves behind numerous great nephews, great nieces, extended relatives, and a host of friends who will forever remember his kindness, humor, and unwavering loyalty.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Maggie Lee Wearing Brandon, whose memory he carried with him throughout his life.

Hubert's warm generosity, steady presence, and genuine love for others made him a pillar within his family and community. His passing leaves a space that cannot be filled, yet his spirit remains alive in every life he touched.

Family and friends will gather to honor his life, share cherished memories, and celebrate the love he gave so freely. May he rest in peace, and may his memory continue to be a blessing to all who mourn him.
