Hudson Chase Skinner

To our baby boy,
On June 14, 2019, Hudson was born with a condition called HLHS. We were told that we might only get a few hours, if we were lucky. Boy, did we get SO much more. Hudson ended up having a weaker heart than they imagined and was put on the heart transplant list right away. At 2 months old, he was able to get his transplant and he came home a month later, but the rollercoaster ride was not over yet.
Hudson has fought his whole life to be here and he has done it with a smile on his face. While he may not have loved all of the doctor visits and hospital pokes, he always gave it a quick whine and went back to joking around and trying to put a smile on everyone's face (including the nurses he was hating 2 minutes before). We have yet to meet a single person that wasn't just taken away by Hudson and the energy that he kept around him. He really helped us to appreciate everything in life and to stop stressing over the little things. Everyone needs a Hudson in their life to teach them how to really enjoy every minute that they have.
On August 6, Hudson's body unexpectedly rejected his heart and he passed away. On his last day, he got to ride in the truck, play in the sand, and ride in 2 ambulances, which he loved. While we are severely missing having our funny little guy here with us, we are happy that he had a great last day here on Earth. He is back in heaven with a healthy heart. He has joined all of the family he had waiting for him and is helping to look over the family left behind.
We truly believe he is in heaven with several new monster trucks, a fishing rod, his bicycle, and a big smile on his face.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Briarwood Event Center, 1237 N 5200 W St, Ogden, Utah.
The family will meet with friends with an open casket from 9-10:15 am.
Family prayer and final closing will be 10:15-10:30. Closed casket visitation will be from 10:30-11 am.
In his honor, we suggest guests dress casual and wear some form of red to his funeral.
