Hung Duc Do

Hung Duc Do was born on October 18, 1951 in Hai Phong, Vietnam. He passed away unexpectedly on February 29, 2024. He was 72 years old.
The oldest of four brothers, he was preceded in death by his parents, Van Hop Do & Xuyen Thi Pham, and his two brothers, Long Duc Do and Phung Duc Do. He is survived by his brother Vuong Duc Do, who lives in Vietnam.
Hung immigrated to the United States with his wife and three children in 1982, after residing at a refugee camp in Hong Kong for six months.
He spent his entire life in America in Philadelphia, PA. In the early years, he worked odd jobs, including selling used goods and as a handyman, to make ends meet. The family was able to save enough money to open one of several nail salons, eventually settling in the Frankford section of Philadelphia.
Hung had a hard exterior but was a sensitive, creative soul. He was artistic by nature and could play music by ear. He was an avid gardener and expert carpenter, singlehandedly renovating a five-bedroom, two-bath home in Kensington, where he raised his seven children.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Tammy Nguyen Do, and children, Daisy Do Tran, Ngoc Do Fleck (Jesse), Tu Do, Holly Do Nguyen (Steve), Trang Do (Kevin Nguyen), Cuong Do (Uyen Nguyen) and Khoa Do, and his 13 grandchildren, Cali, Michael, Sydney, Taylor, Aubrey, Finley, Harper, Avery, Leo, Zac, Ace, Luc, and Julian.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet his family Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Lambie Funeral Home 8000 Rowland Avenue (At Rhawn Street). Hung's service will follow 11:00 am at the funeral home.
