On behalf of our family, we are dad to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Hung Van Tran. Also affectionately know as "Grandpa Noi."
"Grandpa Noi" was born on May 6, 1953. In Hue, Vietnam. Where he spent majority of his youth. Along with six of his siblings, he attended school and University until he was drafted into the Vietnam War. At the conclusion of the war, he became a prisoner of war for several years until he was granted asylum in the United States.
In 1990, he gathered great courage and relocated his wife and two children to a city he know nothing about. I once asked him why he chose savannah, GA? and not a more well known city? He answered: "So you and your brother will not have any distraction'".
That the best way Hung Van Tran should be remembered, for the loved and dedication he has for his family. His joy has always been his children and grandchildren: Nolan, Nathan and Jaden.
At the age of 73, Unfortunately on February 1, 2025 Hung loss his battle with heart failure. I know my father to be brave, selfless, joyful and full of love. We will miss his hug, his smile, and for being the constant rock for which our family built our foundation.
