Entered eternal life Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at the age of 78 in
Milwaukee, WI. Ed was born on December 26, 1944 in
Danville, Kentucky at the famous Ephraim McDowell Memorial Hospital. The son of Irvine Edward Lausman Sr and Willena (nee Baxter) Lausman and the younger brother of Henry D. Lausman. Later in his childhood, following the death of his mother, Willena, Ed moved with his father, I.E. Lausman Sr and his stepmother, Carrie Lee (nee Daniels) Lausman to Beaufort, South Carolina.
Ed is survived by his brother, Henry D. (Chris) Lausman, along with their daughters, niece Lorry (Mitch) Farmer and their children, Ireland, Reagan, and Cade of California and also niece Tracy Lausman with her children Kristen, Cooper, and Hunter also of California.
Ed was especially loved by his late Aunt Sadye (nee Baxter) and his Uncle Louis Truelove with whom Ed spent many summers together in Dothan, Alabama.
Ed's cousins include Maurice and Sandra Baxter along with their children, Mark and Susan of Georgia, the late Samuel "Sammy" Baxter of Georgia, and LaRue (the late Glen) Janson and family of
Cincinnati, Ohio.
Ed is also survived by his wife Pamela E. (nee Gewalt) whom he married in April of 1980 at St. Matthias Parish of
Milwaukee, WI. Ed was the son-in-law of the late Kurt and Margaret Gewalt of West Allis, WI and the brother-in-law of Thomas and Mary (nee Gewalt) Schmidt.
Ed was uncle to Peter T. (Diana) Schmidt and their sons, Joseph and Jacob Schmidt. Ed was also uncle to Andrew T. (Allison) Schmidt and their sons, Nathan and Kaleb Schmidt. Also, uncle to Maryjoyce E. Gewalt. Also survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lt. Colonel Paul K. (Dr. Helen T.) Gewalt (Retired) of
St. Louis, Missouri.
Ed Lausman served America in the United States Coast Guard, training at the United States Coast Guard Training Center in Groton, Connecticut.
Ed Further admired his fellow employees and photographers at Cilento Studios in Shorewood, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 6, from 10 AM – 11 AM at St. Matthias Catholic Church (9306 W. Beloit Rd.). Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 AM. Private inurnment.
