Ian Robertson Cushenan

Ian Robertson Cushenan, 86, Beloved husband of 44 years to the love of his life Helene Cushenan (formerly Helene Maloy). Cherished father of Richard (Pam) Cushenan, Dawn (Rick) Mead, and step-father of Nancy Maloy and Pete Maloy; Loving grandfather of Alex (Savannah) and Ryan (Nicole) Cushenan; Jena Stawicki, Kara (Dillon) Swanson, Katie Bernstein and Connor Bernstein. Dearest great-grandfather of Rian, Zachary, Gema, Adrianna, and Nova. Dear brother of Susan Marshall and the late Alex Cushenan. Uncle and cousin to many. Dear friend of John and Jane Erickson and family. From 1956-1966, Ian played in the NHL for the Montreal Canadiens, Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Redwings, and New York Rangers; winning the Stanley Cup with the Canadiens in the 1958-1959 season. He also played in the AHL with the Cleveland Barons and others. He coached hockey at North Olmstead High School in the 1970's and 80's, and St. Edward's Junior Varsity after that. Coaching teams to the Baron Cup and placing several times in the state championship. He worked at American Ship Building for George Steinbrenner, starting as a Contract Negotiator in the late 1960's and eventually became president in the 1970's. In 1976 he became the first owner of a 10 minute lube in Northern Ohio as well as multiple AAMCO Transmission shops until he retired and went into real estate. He was a successful residential real estate agent from the 1990's until the present. He was an avid golfer at Meadowood Country Club winning many championships.
