Ida Mae Brown departed from this life on February 12, 20 4 at St. Francis Hospital with members of her family by her side.
Ida was born on November 9, 1948 in Wilmington, De. She was educated in the Wilmington public schools. Ida was a member of Cornerstone Fellowship Baptist Church.
Her interests were taking long walks and dancing. Ida was excellent at Double-Dutch and also spent time as a Majorette with the Elks. She was a very sociable and trustworthy person. While she was a resident at the Regency Health and Rehabilitation Center, Ida was known to make requests to her family, asking for various types of food and snacks especially gum, coffee, donuts and chicken.
Ida was the daughter of the late Roberta Hoskins. She was the 7th of 11 children. She was preceded in death by her brothers Leon Williams, William Hoskins, John Hoskins and Robert Hoskins and sisters Rose Johnson and Jacqueline Ziegler. Also, a beloved aunt Verona Murray.
She is survived by her sisters Patricia James and Malkia Ayanna Jones (Howard); her brothers, Alfred Williams and Frton Hoskins.
Ida leaves to cherish her memory 4 daughters Shenell Scovens (Larry) Patricia Brown, Jamie Fair (Allen) and Sharon Brown; 1 son, Shawn Brown (Tina); 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
