IDA MAE McELROY BROWN Ida Mae McElroy Brown was born June 5, 1931 in Houston, Texas to Henry Newt McElroy and Rachel McElroy McGuire. She went to be with the Lord at 10:55 a.m., Friday, March 4, 2011. Mrs. Brown graduated from Jeff Davis High School in 1949 with highlights as a drum majorette. She married Louis L. Brown on Aug. 3, 1956 in Houston. Her career entertained a variety of skills. She worked as an aide at multiple schools in Cy-Fairbanks ISD, a statistical typist for a CPA firm and ran a business as a floral designer. Her passion was her husband, son, grandgirls and neighbors and, of course, cooking for all of them. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Terrell. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Ruby Rae Cole and Ruth Meltcher. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Louis L. Brown and only son Gary L. Brown and his wife Beth of Terrell. She is also survived by her dearly loved grandgirls Kacie, Lynsie and Makenzie Brown, brother-in-law Jim Brown and wife Antonette, nephew James and niece Angela Clark and family along with many nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, March 5 at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Terrell and the graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Old Moulton Cemetery in Moulton. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Terrell.
