Ida Eccher Obituary
She was born in Readsboro, VT on June 24, 1927, a daughter of Augustus and Angelina (Maestri) Scaia. She graduated from the former Readsboro High School.
Ida was a teacher at Olson's Nursery School in Pittsfield for many years.
She was a communicant of St. Agnes Church in Dalton.
She was the widow of Fabio Domenico Eccher who died on January 26, 2013. Survivors include one daughter- Gwenn Eccher (James) Preston of Lake Forest, CA, and one son- Mark Carl (Myra) Eccher of Franklin, MA. She also leaves five grandchildren- Daniel Eccher, Brandon Eccher, Adam Preston, Torey Preston, and Alana Preston; seven great-grandchildren- Macey, Anders, Mia, Christopher, Claire, Jordan, and Travis; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters and one brother including Eleanor Dassatti, Anita Scaia, and Augustus Scaia.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Ida Eccher will be celebrated Monday, January 9, 2022, at 10:00 AM at St. Agnes Church in Dalton by the Rev Christopher Malatesta, Pastor. Entombment will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA are Sunday from 2-5 PM.
