Ida Ruth (Webb) Sutton, age 95, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025. Ida was a member of Webb Baptist Church and attended faithfully as long as her health allowed. Her community activities had included Rural Medical Services Board Member, Cocke County Farm Bureau Board Member, and she and her husband were instrumental in establishing Eastern Star in Newport where she had served as Worthy Matron.
She was preceded in death by her husband, McKinnie Sutton; daughter, Jennifer (Penny) Bible; parents; Dewey (Zack) and Matilda (Tilda) Webb; sister; Reva Dean (W.J.) Bryant; brothers, Larry (Dorothy) Webb; Gay (Louise) Webb; nieces; Gayla Ann Webb Ewing, Sherry (Edgar) Jenkins; nephew; Hollis Sutton; parents-in-law, Hollace Sutton and Loma J. Garren; sister-in-law, Ozella (Bill) Gutch, brothers-in-law; Doyle (Dean) Sutton, Thomas Lowell (Tug) Sutton, Tony Sutton.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Bill Myers, grandsons (her pride and joy!), Matthew (Chasity) Hill, McKinley (Kelsey Mitchell) Bible; step-grandsons, John (Kristin) Myers, Bryan (Martha) Myers; great grandchildren, Slayd (Penny) More, Ezra Vandergriff, Nova Mitchem, Ivy Bible; step-great grandchildren, Will Myers, Hannah (Graham) Palmer, Andrew Myers, Sydney Myers, Brooke Myers; son-in-law, Tommy (Linda) Bible; sister-in-law, Sheila Sutton; aunt, Geneva Webb Ball; nieces and nephews, Vonda (Mike) Mckinney, Vicki Bryant, Jeannie (Mark) Hurst, Jana (Steve) Johnson, Dr. Susan Webb, Kathy (Todd) Fisher, Ricky (Karen) Bryant, Steve (Gay) Bryant, Mitchell (Sonya) Webb, Bobby (Susan) Holt, Jeff (Marion) Sutton, Scotty Wilde, Tommy (Sandy) Sutton; additional great nieces, nephews and cousins, and she loved them all big so they knew it!
As per her wishes, there will be a graveside service at the Webb Family Cemetery on Monday, November 17, at 2:00, Reverend Daniel Bell officiating. She said there were not enough of her family and friends left for a funeral - She was Ida till the end!
