Idella Frances Barton

Idella Frances Barton, passed away on March 13, 2026, at Sunset Nursing Home.

She was born June 11, 1930, near Weatherby, Mo. She lived her entire life in Dekalb, Co. Her parents were Byron Harwood and Roberta Allen Harwood. She attended Amity Grade School and Maysville High School graduating in 1947. Upon graduation, she attended Maysville College and taught at Mt. Hope.

Idella married Robert "Bob" Barton on December 26,1947. Idella joined Bob in farming. They were blessed with three children: Duane, Joyce, and Ann.

She was an active member of the Oak Christian Church where she taught VBS among other services.

She was proud of her country, home and county. She served as PTA president, 4~H leader, VFW axillary, Senior tax board, ABC board on aging, and Nutrition board, all while helping her family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; son, Duane Barton; brother, J.B. Harwood; sister, Jean Pritchard; and grandson-in-law, Max Poster.

Survivors include her daughters, Joyce (Ron) Rogers, and Ann (Rod) Budgett of Maysville; 9 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and many other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18 th, 2026, at Turner Family Funeral Home in Maysville, with burial immediately following at Amity Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 ~ 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 17 th, 2026, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in Idella's honor to Oak Christian Church, Comfort Care Hospice or 4~ H Building.
