It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Ila Patel on February 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Ila was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and the heart of her family. She lived a life defined by kindness, strength, humility, and unconditional love. Her greatest joy was caring for those around her and creating a home filled with warmth, comfort, and togetherness. Her presence brought peace, her words brought reassurance, and her love brought strength to all who knew her.
Born in 1951, Ila carried with her enduring values of family, compassion, and resilience. She possessed a gentle spirit and quiet strength that left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Whether through a lovingly prepared meal, thoughtful guidance, or simply her calm and comforting presence, Ila made people feel welcomed, supported, and deeply valued.
Family was the center of Ila's world. She was immensely proud of her children and found immeasurable joy in being a grandmother. She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren, celebrating their accomplishments and showering them with boundless love and affection. Her family was her greatest accomplishment and her proudest legacy.
Ila is survived by her beloved husband, Mahesh R. Patel; her loving children, Leena (Vishal) Shah, Mona Patel Gandhi, and Mihir (Deepthi) Patel; and her adored grandchildren, Dhruv, Raiya, Suriya, Akshay, Diya, and Maya. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings: the late Kalaben (late Anandkumar), the late Kanubhai (Chandraben), Indumati (late Ramanlal), Hasuben (Hasmukhlal), Mahendra (Lata), and Ashok (Hansa), along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives she touched deeply.
Though her family mourns her loss with heavy hearts, they find comfort in the beautiful memories she leaves behind and the countless ways she enriched their lives. Her legacy of love, grace, generosity, and devotion will live on through all who were blessed to know her.
A funeral service will be held at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and celebrate Ila's life.
