Ilene Carol Kaplan (nee Schwartz)

January 1, 1945 - September 15, 2022

Beloved and cherished wife of Steve (ret.CPD), proud, loving, and devoted mother of Jeff Mappa (ret. Lt.CPD) and Eric Kaplan. Dearest daughter of the late Sidney and Lois Schwartz (the late Sam) Newman, dear daughter-in-law of the late Morris and the late Dean Kaplan. Dearest sister of the late Earl (Bonnie) Schwartz. Former sister-in-law and dear friend of the late Charlene Mappa. Fond sister-in-law of the late Dana (Silvio) Camodeca and the late Karla Mink. Loving Aunt of Richard (Jeanette) and David (Julie) Schwartz, Debbie Tomlin (Paul), and David Mink.

Ilene has left many special friends who she considered her family including Lori and Sadelle Brenner, Barbara Gill, Paula (Denny) Kupperman, Sandra Liebling and many more who were so dear to her heart. We know she is now laughing it up with departed lifelong friends Andrea Oliff and Anita Gold whom she dearly missed.

Our Mom was full of life and love. She always made sure everyone was taken care of and was a never-ending source of compassion, strength, and warmth that we relied on to guide us throughout her life. Her friendship, her caring nature, and her selflessness lives on in all those lucky enough to have known her.

We will miss her love, her laugh, and her amazing cooking, but most of all we will miss the most important person in our lives that we were so very lucky to call our Mom.

We know Elvis was waiting to serenade you and you are rejoicing with all those who left before you. We love you Mom and we will meet again some sunny day.
