Ilse Lumpkins, 84, of Fayetteville passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024 in her home.
Ilse was born in Germany on March 3, 1940 to the late Reinhold and Pauline Roechert Gross. She was primarily a home maker taking care of her family and was a member of West Fayetteville Baptist Church. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Morris Lumpkins and her brother, Erich Gross.
She is survived by her daughter, Heidi Castillo and husband Julio of Fayetteville; sons, John Michael Lumpkins and wife Verna of Fayetteville, Timothy Wade Lumpkins and wife Carolyn of Alabama; Grandchildren, Katrina Bolinder, Connor Bolinder, Ronald Stover and wife Van, Shane Lumpkins and wife Jessie, Amber Thomson and husband Steven; great grandchildren, Carden Stover, Taylor Stover and Brendan Stover; a niece, Kristin Nicewick and husband John of Chicago; many extended family members and friends.
A visitation will be held 1:00 – 2:00 PM Saturday, September 14, 2024 at West Fayetteville Baptist Church, 2465 Gillis Hill Rd., Fayetteville, NC 28304. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM following the visitation with Pastor Andy McDaniel officiating.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 8220 Bragg Blvd, Fort Liberty, NC 28310.
