Imelda Barbara "Millie" Riley, age 89, of Vienna, was born May 21, 1936, in Meta, a daughter of Joseph Michael and Mary Josephine (Hoerschgen) Jaegers, and passed from this life on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City.
She was united in marriage on July 21, 1956, to Sgt. Clemens John Deeken and to this union four children were born; Janette, Marsha, Norma and Timothy. Clemens preceded her in death on January 27, 1969. Millie was later united in marriage on August 6, 1983, in Argyle, to Mr. Willard John Riley Sr. and his children are Bob, Connie, and Willard Jr. Willard preceded her in death on February 19, 2013.
Millie was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna, VFW Post 8045-Argyle, served as a Eucharistic Minister at Maries Manor for twenty plus years, Catechist, officer and member of the Ladies Sodality, served on the parish council for both the Visitation Catholic Church and St. Aloysius Catholic Church, was a chairman for Voice of Democracy Program with the Argyle VFW, and a member of the National Association of Postmasters of the United States (NAPUS). She enjoyed volunteering her time especially with the Red Cross, as she helped to organize blood drives, volunteered to work them, and donated blood. Millie was also a volunteer escort at the Harry S. Turman Veteran's Hospital, Columbia, and when she was not volunteering her time, Millie liked to play cards, put together puzzles, watch game shows, and doing crafts at the library, however her greatest joy was being with her family, friends, and socializing with everyone.
During her working life, Millie worked for Kalaf's Groceries as a salesclerk, worked for her brother, Leonard Jaegers at Jaegers Shoe and Apparel as a manager and salesclerk, and A&B Variety as a manager and salesclerk all in Meta. Millie later went to work for the United States Postal Service retiring from the Argyle Post Office, as a Postmaster after 26 years of service. But Millie will always be remembered as "The Boss" at Argyle Catering!!
Those left to mourn the passing of Millie include: her children, Janette Davis of Freeburg, Marsha Krone (John) of Peoria, Illinois, Norma "Pud" Doerhoff (Kevin) of St. Elizabeth, and daughter-in-law Debbie Deeken of Vienna; Willard's children, Bob Riley (Terry) of Cuba, Willard Riley, Jr. of Minot, North Dakota, and Randy Stillman, son-in-law, Park Hills, MO; 16 grandchildren, Alisha Rehagen (Jason), Ryan Davis (Daris), Colby Davis (Arielle), Emily Banas (Mike), Bradley Krone (Ashley), Allison Krone, Jason Doerhoff, Ashlee Ryan (Matt), Brooke Doerhoff (Stanley Heckman), Ryan Hollis (Annelise), Kelly Schwartze (Andy), Jason Riley (Dawn), Stacie Copeland (Gary), Ranelle Duncan (Nick), Heather McWhorter (Scott), and Samantha Koelling (Andrew); 27 great-grandchildren, Lydia, Jase, Nash, Cohen, Gage, Burkley, Deeken, Rowan, Finn, Mackenzie, Amelia, Finnegan, Elizabeth, Penny, Luke, Bayla, Hunter, Weston, Holden, Riley, Ruby, Tyson, Zoe, Parker, Amber, Adrianna, and Rachel, and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husbands, Millie was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Deeken on February 26, 2016; son-in-law, Henry Davis on May 28, 2011; one great-granddaughter, Adelyn Heckman on May 2, 2016; her stepdaughter, Connie Stillman on March 22, 2001; her parents, Joseph and Mary Jaegers; brothers, Leonard Jaegers (Helen), Ed Jaegers (Delphine), Norman Jaegers (Delphine), Jerry Jaegers (Viola); and sisters, Lucille Viet (Gregory), Mary Ann Loethen (Harold "Bud").
Visitation for Millie will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 a.m., all in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle, with Rev. Matthew Flatley and Rev. Basil Tigga co-celebrating the Mass under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.
Interment will be in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Argyle. Pallbearers for Millie will be grandsons Ryan Davis, Colby Davis, Bradley Krone, Jason Doerhoff, Ryan Hollis, and Jason Riley.
