Imogene Helen (Schwickerath) Attig, passed away on August 10, 2024, at her home in Glenville, Minnesota.

Born on October 8, 1941, in New Hampton, Iowa, Imogene was a daughter of the late William and Rose (Rosonke). Imogene was a remarkable woman who dedicated 13 years of her life to serving as a Nun before meeting and marrying her beloved husband, Howard Attig, on June 30, 1973.

Imogene was a woman of unwavering faith, placing her family and her beliefs above all else. Her devotion extended beyond her personal life as she actively participated in church activities, organizing events and programs for children. Her career as a teacher allowed her to touch the lives of countless children, shaping their futures with her wisdom and kindness.

Imogene was a social butterfly, known for her love of dining out and spending quality time with friends. She had a passion for gardening, relished in reading, and found joy in Polka music and dancing. Imogene was a familiar voice on the Party Line, always ensuring that everyone received a birthday shoutout. Her sense of humor and her trademark green earmuffs were cherished by all who knew her. Imogene leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and laughter. She shared her beliefs with her family, emphasizing the true "Reason for the Season" each Christmas.

Imogene is survived by her children, Mark (Casie) Attig and Janel (Robert) Heideman; step-children, Brett Attig, Marlon (Wanda) Attig, and Kim (David) Moen; 16 grandchildren, Amy, Bobbie, Matthew, Ehrich, Daniel, Kristopher, Jordan, Kayla, Ava, Presley, River, Austin, Wyatt, Izzy, Chase, and Cash; great-grandchildren; sisters, Coletta Geerts and Jane Schwickerath; a brother, Joe Schwickerath; several nieces and nephews; many extended family members; and countless friends.

In addition to her parents, William and Rose Schwickerath, Imogene was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Attig; a son, Jason Attig; and a daughter-in-law, Laura Attig.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, August 16, 2024, at St. Theodore Catholic Church, with Father Kurt Farrell officiating. The family will receive friends at a visitation to be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 4-6:00PM at Bonnerup Funeral & Cremation Service, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
