Imogene Shelton

Mrs. Imogene Butler Shelton, 89, the widow of George C. Shelton, went to her heavenly home on Monday, November 10, 2025.
Imogene was the daughter of the late Harry Butler and Dixie Ashcraft Butler Wilhoit and was born at Dreyfus, Kentucky on August 28, 1936. She was a homemaker and a member of The Flatwoods Christian Church where she sang in the choir.
Imogene loved cooking and canning fresh vegetables every harvest season. She helped raise several generations of Madison County Children, as a trusted in-home childcare provider for many years. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Margaret Shelton and Mary Butler.
Survivors include her children: Jerry Shelton (Serena) of Frankfort, Kentucky, Sherol Gibbs of Southern Pines, North Carolina, Ronnie Shelton of Richmond, Kentucky and Debra McMaine (Gerald) of Bybee, Kentucky; five grandchildren: Jarrod McMaine (Carolyn), Leah McMaine (John Dalton), Lynsey Shelton (Andi), Clint Gibbs (Emily) and Kristy Webb; seven great-grandchildren: Rebekah Webb, George Webb, Lainey McMaine, Luca McMaine, Linley McMaine, Layla Dalton and Kaylor Gibbs as well as a host of other relatives.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Dr. Charles E. Brown and Bro. Dennis Pasley officiating. Burial will follow at Madison Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Paul Dunn, Andy Dunn, Phil Flynn, William Masters, Nathan Masters and West Cole.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jarrod McMaine, Clint Gibbs, Mark Moberly, George Webb and Wayne Shelton.
