Inella Grace Eickholt, age 83, passed away on March 26, 2026. She was born to Clarence and Opal (Guill) Kerber on July 7,1942 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She married Larry Eickholt on January 16, 1965, in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Inella graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in 1965 with a degree in education. She dedicated many years to raising her children and caring for her home. Later, she enjoyed a long and fulfilling career at JCPenney, retiring in 2007. She enjoyed painting and quilting in her free time. In her later years, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren and could often be found relaxing on her porch with a cold Mickey's.
In addition to her parents, Inella is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Eickholt; son-in-law, Scott Higgins; brother, Paul (Joyce) Kerber; sister in-law Darlene Kerber; brother-in-law, Gary Eickholt; and sister-in-law, Ann Heflin
Inella is survived by her daughter, Lisa Higgins of Jacksonville, Florida; sons, John (Maureen) Eickholt of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Jeff Eickholt of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren: Jessica (Bryan) Higgins, Joseph (Alissa) Eickholt, Emma (Connor) Eickholt, Jackson (Kilee) Eickholt, Ella Eickholt, and Ava Eickholt; and one great-grandchild, Emilia Eickholt. She is also survived by her brothers, Max (Candy) Kerber and Marvin Kerber; sister-in-law, Shirley Eickholt; brother-in-law Paul Heflin; cherished friends Jim and Rachel Simmons; and many other beloved family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on April 2nd, 2026 at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on April 3, 2026, at Hardin Township Cemetery McClelland, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be directed by the family.
