Ines M. Massella, 72, of Erie, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Saint Vincent Hospital. She was born February 3, 1950 in Erie, a daughter of the late Ercole "Eric" and Maria Sunta "Sue" Cionco Massella.
Ines was a graduate of Villa Maria Academy, Villa Maria College, and of Catholic University Law School in Washington, DC. After her graduation from Law School Ines stayed in Washington, D.C. to work until her return to Erie in 1990. Once back in Erie Ines worked for The County Public Defenders Office in several capacities and later as a Guardian Ad Litem representing children in Erie County until her retirement.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Massella and beloved aunt, Louise Cionco Wagner.
She is survived by her niece, Erica Lewandowski (Joe); nephew and Godson, Vincent Massella (Annemarie); four great-nephews, Joey, Beau, Samuel and Dean; and first cousins, Donald Wagner and Ronald Cionco (Ellie). She is also survived by many cousins locally as well as many relatives in Italy and her cat, Oreo.
Friends are invited to call on Friday at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, 2122 Raspberry Street, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
