Inez Jones Obituary
Enveloped in the love of her family and on her own terms, Inez Annie Jones, 96, of Katonah, NY, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026.
Born in Alabama in 1929, Inez moved to New York in the late 1950s, but she never left her Southern roots behind. God was at the center of her life, and she lived her faith through kindness, humility, and hospitality. Her home reflected the traditions she carried with her - soul food, sweet tea, fresh flowers, and a warmth that made everyone feel welcome.
Inez spent many years as a domestic worker and caregiver, forming lasting bonds and becoming family to those she served. She lived quietly but formed deep connections, greeting others with grace, speaking thoughtfully, and treating everyone with the courtesy she believed was owed to all.
Family was her foundation. She hosted holidays, cooked everyone's favorite dishes, tried new recipes, and put her own Southern touch on every table she set. A faithful and active member of St. Francis A.M.E. Zion Church, she lived her values through service and love.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie McCaine of Katonah, NY; her son-in-law, Robin McCaine; her granddaughter, Shelby McCaine; and her granddaughters Jessica Key, Jacqulyn Key, Jaime Key, and Jenna Key. She is also survived by her beloved great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel Richard Jones; her son, James Key; and her mother, Dellar Newton.
Inez leaves behind a legacy of faith, warmth, and fierce love. She will be remembered for her quiet strength, sharp wit, loyal friendships, and the deep love she held for her family.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 5:00–7:00 PM at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY 10536.
A Homegoing Service will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Antioch Baptist Church, 3 Church Street, Bedford Hills, NY 10507.
Private burial with family to follow.
