Inez Joyner Obituary
Sometimes it's hard to understand why certain things must be, but there is reason for it all beyond our power to see; And may it comfort us a bit to know, those we love have found eternal happiness and lasting peace above.
Sister Inez Harold Joyner was born April 12, 1926 in Princess Anne County, Virginia Beach, Virginia to the late Deacon Daniel and Adella Harold. She joined the United House of Prayer at a very early age, under the auspices of our Founder, Sweet Daddy Grace. She remained a member in Burton her entire life until God called her home from labor to rest on Saturday, June 15, 2024. She was predeceased by two husbands, Charlie Elliott, Sr. and Elder Allen Joyner; her sister, Sister Martha Harold Elliott; her brother, Linwood Harold; and one son-in-law, Melvin DeGree.
Sister Inez Joyner was one of the original members of The United House of Prayer in Burton and attended services regularly until her health began to fail. She was also an original member of the #2 Choir and enjoyed singing on second Sundays and on special programs.
Sister Joyner, during her early years worked with the US Navy during World War II. She worked as a seamstress with The Hub Men's fashions in Military Circle for over 10 years, and a tailor/seamstress for S&K Famous Men Brands in Janaf Shopping Center for 20 years. She was well-known in the tailor shops in the Tidewater area for her skills and patience to render expert alteration service to their customers.
Sister Joyner loved her family and enjoyed all the special family gatherings, special birthday celebrations and holiday get-to-gathers.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories six children, Ives Clark (Claude), Prezillia DeGree, Charlie Elliott, Jr., Sandra Joyner, Zelda Joyner, all of Chesapeake, Virginia and Daryl Joyner of Clinton, Maryland; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a host of nieces nephews, cousins and friends. ~ Prayerfully The Family
