Inge’s warmth, strength, and love for her family will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Inge D. Gordy, lovingly known as “Oma,” passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, in Austell, Georgia, at the age of 97.
She was born on February 24, 1929, in Germany. Inge lived a long and meaningful life centered around family, love, and the simple joys that made life special. She had a vibrant spirit and a deep appreciation for time spent with those she loved most.
Inge enjoyed traveling, cooking for her family, shopping, and spending time with family and friends at German picnics. She especially loved German music, crocheting, and relaxing while watching the Game Show Network. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She loved teaching her grandkids and great-grandkids how to speak curse words in German. Every moment spent together was cherished.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alvin Gordy, and her son, Paul Gordy.
Inge is survived by her children, Rose Pitts (David Pitts) and Kenny Gordy (Candi Gordy), daughter-in-law Lori Gordy; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her memory and love with them always.
A graveside service will be held at Mount Harmony Memorial Gardens Friday, 3/13/2026 at 2PM, with arrangements entrusted to Roy Davis Funeral Home.
