Ingeborg Maria Magruder
January 7, 1934 – October 17, 2025
Ingeborg Magruder, known lovingly as Inge, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, at the age of 91. She was born on January 7, 1934, in Blieskastel, Germany, and later made her home in the United States, where she built a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.
Inge was a devoted homemaker and caring babysitter for many years. Her kindness, warmth, and patience touched countless lives—both within her family and among the many children she cared for. She loved sharing stories from her youth and her experiences during World War II, keeping history alive through her vivid recollections.
Cooking was one of Inge’s greatest joys, and she often brought family and friends together around her table to enjoy her delicious meals and her loving company. Her generous spirit and laughter made everyone feel welcome and loved.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 60 years, Lewis H. Magruder III and her sons Jorg Magruder and Andre Magruder. She is survived by her children Helge (Angela) Magruder, Richard Magruder, and Maria Magruder; her sister Rika Rebmann; and seven grandchildren: Len Rhem, Jorg Magruder, Kevin Magruder, Alexandra Magruder, Ashon Magruder, Ricardo Sutton, and Joshua Lazenby and 4 great grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 @1pm, at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, Maryland, where family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and legacy.
Inge will be remembered for her strength, her stories, and the love she shared so freely. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, resilience, and family bonds that will endure for generations.
