Ingrid Foust Obituary

Published by Legacy on Feb. 16, 2026.
Ingrid Ann Foust, 79, a lifelong Riverton resident, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming, following an unexpected accident.

She was born December 6, 1946, in Riverton, Wyoming, to Richard Bennett and Lillian Jane (Peterson) Bennett. Ingrid was raised in Riverton and attended Riverton schools, graduating with the Class of 1965. She continued her education at the University of Wyoming, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in 1969. Dedicated to lifelong learning, she later attained her Master's Degree in Education from the University of Wyoming in 1988. During her years at the university, Ingrid distinguished herself academically and received recognition for her excellence and commitment to the field of education.

Ingrid married Harley Milo Foust in Riverton. The couple shared a deep love and devotion. Sadly, Harley passed away in October of 1982, early in their marriage. Ingrid carried his memory with her throughout her life.

A devoted educator, Ingrid taught for over 31 years with Fort Washakie Schools. She spent most of her career teaching second grade, along with several years in fifth grade. She touched countless young lives with her patience, intelligence, and genuine care for her students. After retiring, she enjoyed staying connected with fellow educators through a close-knit group of retired teachers in the local area, maintaining the friendships and bonds they had built throughout their careers.

Ingrid had a love for travel and adventure. She explored destinations both within the United States and abroad, including Australia and other countries, and even experienced riding a camel during her travels. As a young woman, she was a foreign exchange student in Sweden, where she stayed with relatives - an experience that broadened her lifelong appreciation for culture and learning.

Her family remembers Ingrid as exceptionally intelligent, sharp-witted, and remarkably well-read. She had a deep love of books and was rarely without one. She carefully signed her books after finishing them, a small but meaningful reflection of her pride in her reading journey. She also enjoyed her favorite television programs and looked forward to dinners out. In high school, she played the flute and was active in music.

Ingrid was a devoted and special aunt to her nieces and nephews, often taking them on memorable trips. One cherished memory shared by her nieces is how she would sing with them on road trips - a rare and delightful side of her that many people never had the opportunity to see. She took great pride in her family and treasured the time spent with them.

She is survived by her brother, Richard Bennett and wife Robin of Riverton; her sister, Janice Woodward and husband Bob of Riverton; her nieces and nephews, Pennie and husband Brian Frost; Nickie and husband Chris Flanagan; Kristie Bennett; Mike Inman Jr. and wife Jennifer; Tara and husband Shawn Ferris; and Jason Treadway Sr.; as well as several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Bennett and Lillian Bennett; her husband, Harley Milo Foust (1982); her stepsons, Jay Foust and Allen Foust; her sister, Linda Treadway; her nephew, Jon Treadway; and her great-nephew, Jason Treadway Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Davis Funeral Home in Riverton with Reverend Amy Mayes officiating. Inurnment will follow in the family plot next to Harley at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton.
