Ingrid Rita Sepp, age 92 of Perham, died peacefully on Friday, December 22, 2023 at Perham Living.
Ingrid was born on March 27, 1931 to Johannes Siilak and Maret Kohlmey in Tartu, Estonia. She and her family fled Estonia in 1944 as it was being occupied by the Soviets. They found themselves in Northern Germany, where Ingrid stayed before coming to the United States in 1950. She liked Minnesota, as the weather was very similar to her home country of Estonia.
She and her parents lived in the Twin Cities and Ingrid worked for more than 30 years at American Linen as an accounting assistant. During her time in the cities, she met her first husband, Ants Lemra. After Ants passed away, Ingrid met and married Michael Sepp in June of 1992 in Las Vegas, NV. The two moved up north to Walker Lake and enjoyed the lake life together. It was here while fishing and taking in the outdoors that Ingrid fell in love with loons. She cherished them for the rest of her years.
After Michael’s passing in 2007, Ingrid moved to Perham Living and enjoyed telling stories of her past making friends with the other residents and caretakers. She will be remembered for her love of travel, having even gone back to visit Estonia, and catching up with friends and other relatives.
Ingrid is survived by many friends who will miss and cherish her memory. She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Ants Lemur and Michael Sepp; and many other relatives.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Richville, MN.
