Inis Belcher Prater, 88, of Somerset, Kentucky passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
She is the daughter of the late Howard and Sadie Daugherty. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Elmer Belcher; infant son, Elmer Belcher Jr.; son, Jeff Belcher; husband, Burbige Prater; brothers, Jack, Jim, and Robert Daugherty; sisters, Della Rae Daugherty, Magdeline Coleman, and Ethel Moore.
She is survived by one son, Ernest & (Katrina) Belcher; grandchildren, Lauren Hill & (Josh Johnson), Morgan Belcher Loudermilk (Cole), Levi Belcher (Kaelyn Butcher), Amanda Belcher, and Lennon Cluney; several nieces and nephews; and friends, Helen Slone, Susie Harris, Bea, Tater, and Molly.
Inis was a homemaker that enjoyed shopping, bird watching, and visits with the grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing guitar and singing at the Jamboree Church of God in her younger years. She loved sitting on the porch visiting with neighbors.
Private services will be held for the family at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Mill Springs National Cemetery.
