Ira Benner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Crouse Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. on Jul. 30, 2024.
Ira "Ben" Benner (1/23/1942 - 7/27/2024)
Ira "Ben" Benner, 82, passed away Saturday July 27 at the Valley View Rehab and Nursing Center in Williamsport. He was surrounded by his loving family as he passed peacefully.
Ben loved his five children, thirteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. He always enjoyed making new friends and truly enjoyed his time at Valley View.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Valley View for making the end of his life a wonderful experience.
Ben grew up between Mifflinburg, PA and Lake Worth, FL, but spent most of his life in Williamsport. After serving in the Air Force, he became a self-taught computer programmer and worked at Wundies in Williamsport for several years. He eventually developed and sold his own computer program to credit unions in the area.
The things he enjoyed most in life were attending his grandchildren's activities, and talking with anyone he ran into around town. (Literally anyone). He will be greatly missed by his family and anybody who had the pleasure to get to know him along the way.
Ben is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Fern; children Mark, Tony (wife Michelle), Wendy Ripley (husband Dean), Julie Benner, Chris (wife Jenna).
In lieu of a memorial service, memorial donations in Ben's honor would be gratefully accepted at the Valley View Rehab and Nursing Center's employee fund at:
Valley View Employee Fund, 2140 Warrensville Rd., Montoursville, PA 17754. 570.433.3161 or online at www.valleyview.org
