Ira Holtz Obituary
With a natural flair for style and precision, Ira found his calling in the costume jewelry industry, where his talent, vision, and drive led to a wildly successful career. His work reflected not only beauty but the joy he found in elevating everyday moments.
A lifelong lover of the Northeast, Ira was a devoted fan of the Mets and the Jets, teams that tested his patience but never his loyalty. His true sanctuary, however, was the beach at Kiawah Island, where he indulged in fresh seafood, long walks, bike rides, and cherished time with family. Bradley, Jenny, and Sally were the light of his life.
Ira was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Roberta and Arthur H Holtz. He is survived by his sister with whom he shared an enviable bond, Ilene (Rick) of Buffalo, NY; stepmother Rita Holtz of Delray Beach, FL: children Bradley (Meredith), Jennifer (Chris), and Sally; and their mother Lauren Hollingsworth. His grandchildren Gordon, Russell, Hattie, Murphy, and Vivianne will forever carry the knowledge and strength of their Papa Ira's love. His niece Rachael (Max), and grandnieces Madelyn and Sophia will miss their Uncle Ira. Perhaps the most devastated to lose Ira is his faithful companion and service dog, Snyder.
A special thank you to Dawn Hammond, Phyllis Prawzinsky, the compassionate staff at Emory Mills Senior Living, Smoky Mountain Hospice, and all those who cared for Ira with empathy and dignity. Your dedication brought him much comfort during his final chapter.
Ira's family will receive friends at Rose Mann Mortuary (6200 Kingston Pike) on December 13, 2025 from 2pm-4pm. If you cannot attend, please honor Ira in your own way, perhaps with a bowl of cookies and cream ice cream, his favorite treat, and remember him fondly.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson's in Memory of Ira Jay Holtz and his brave fight.

Ira was such a sweet, loving person. I have some wonderful memories working with him. It saddens me that he went through so much. My father had ALS so I understand the suffering and hurt that Ira, and his family and friends have gone through. My thoughts and prayers are with you all, and my deepest condolences. Rest in eternal peace my friend. <3
