HARVEYS LAKE — Irene Natalie Davison Brislin passed away peacefully at her home at Harveys Lake on Dec.29, 2024.
Born June 23, 1948, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late William and Irene Savage Davison. Irene graduated from Meyers High School and then attended Villanova University, where she majored in nursing. She proudly worked as an RN after college in Boston, before returning to Philadelphia to pursue a master's degree at Penn. Irene's nursing skills were best utilized when caring for her mother for many years. Her career, her love of family and her deep faith inspired a lifelong commitment to advocating for the respect of life.
Irene devoted her life to raising her six children and found great joy in each one of her twenty grandchildren, often jet-setting around the country to participate in some everyday life, attend school functions, and share in their accomplishments. Her cherished memories are of her children bringing their families back to Harveys Lake yearly to share in the magic of summer days.
Irene's beloved brother, John Davison, preceded her in death.
Her life and memories are treasured by her children: Dr. Kenneth Brislin, of Allentown; Dr. Brian Brislin, of Lititz; Julie Whaley, of Arlington, Texas; Timothy Brislin, of Phoenix, Ariz.; Attorney Mary Kathleen Mitura, of Oreland; and Dr. Thomas Brislin, of Carlsbad, Calif.; and by their spouses and families; by her siblings: William Davison, Kathleen Hudik, Thomas Davison, James Davison, and Robert Davison; and other family and friends.
Celebration of Irene's life will begin with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre, and continue with a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the Church of Saint Aloysius, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery.

To Brian, Kenny, Julie, Timmy, Tommy and Mary, I am so very sorry for the loss of your dear and wonderful mother. We shared so very many memories. We grew up together in our awkward teens at the lake. Then we shared many wonderful and challenging parenting times when you were all growing up at the lake. Your mom was a strong companion of faith, wisdom, love, understanding and compassion for me. She was always there for me when there was a need. I know she was a constant loving parent to you all, and a loving grandparent to your children. May these wonderful memories comfort you during this time of sorrow. Sending you all love, Dr. and Mrs.Scott(Rainey)

Kenny, Brian, Julie, Mary Kate, Timmy, Tommy, and all your families: I am so sorry for the tremendous loss of your dear Mom. Magic indeed. Your Mom had all the secrets to everyday joy and made sure we knew them well: jump into the deep end, get up early and ski, dock time is the best time, go down the slide. My heart is hurting for you all. Your Mom, always Mrs Brislin to me, was a fixture of my childhood and all that I was lucky to have right in this world. I´m so sorry for her light to leave this world and so happy I was lucky enough to experience her shine and love and warmth.
All my love, and peace to you all,
Brigitte Scott
