Irene Francis Cathey, age 85 of Bearden passed away Sunday, November 30 ,2025 at St. John’s Place in Fordyce, Arkansas. She was born January 7, 1940 in Houston, AR. She was a retried LPN and she attended Hopeville Assembly of God Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tim Frost and Margaret Maxwell Frost; husband, Carlton Wayne Cathey; one brother, Martin Frost; and one sister, Wilma Risner. Irene is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Morris) Nutt of Malvern, Donna (Vester) Thompson of New Edinburg; one sister, Myrldene Fogle of Scotland; Rickey Dorey of Bearden, who she considered to be like a son; four grandchildren, Robert Duff, Trey (Jamie) Duff, Bryan (Brittany) Kee, Heather Kee; eleven great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Bethel Cemetery in Bearden with Johnny Johnson and Rev.
