Irene Dueweke Obituary

Irene was born to Alidor and Julia Joye on May 6, 1928 in Grosse Pointe Woods. She married the love of her life, Richard Joseph Dueweke, on June 13, 1953 at St. Philomena's parish in Detroit. Together they raised two wonderful children, Diane and Richard.
Irene enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, cards and games, crocheting and baking. Her favorite seasons were spring when the pansies and lilacs were in bloom and fall visits to the orchards for cider and donuts. She looked forward to the annual family reunions and visiting with family and friends. Irene was a parishioner of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores for over 50 years.
Irene was the devoted wife to the late Richard; proud mother of Diane and Richard (Barbara Gonyea); cherished grandmother to Heather (Evan) Chelini, and Benjamin; loved great- grandmother to Enzo, Crosby and the late Lily Chelini.
She was predeceased by her loving parents, Alidor and Julia, brothers Paul and Julius, and sister Elsie.
Irene was loved by so many and will be missed by all who knew her.
