Irene R. Ford, age 85, of Palmyra, passed away Sunday, November 16 at Salem Crossing.
Irene was born July 14, 1940, in Grundy, Virginia, the daughter of Clarence and Edith Ratliff Ramey. She was a homemaker. Her passion in life was traveling the world.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Donald Ford on February 23, 2022. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and a sister: Jane O'Neal. She is survived by a son: Michael Ford (Michele) of Palmyra, a daughter: Donna Buchanan (Jeff) of Bluefield, Virginia, a brother: Michael Ramey of Grundy, Virginia, and five sisters: Phylis Matney of Grundy, Virginia, Mary Creeden of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Billie Jo Shuford of Jacksonville, Florida, Joan Stewart of Lexington, Kentucky, and Pat Smith of Bluefield, Virginia. She is survived by six grandchildren: Michael Scott Whitt, Matthew Austin Whitt, Megan Nichole Bailey, McKinley David Webb, Samantha Paige Richardson, and Loa Madison Ford, and two great-grandchildren: Addilene Whitt and Lucy Richardson.
Cremation was chosen with one last cruise.
