Irene Goss
May 27, 1935 - October 15, 2025
Irene M. Goss, age 90, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Oakwood Health Services in Altoona.
Born on May 27, 1935, in Emerald, Wisconsin, Irene was the daughter of Nicholas and Myrtle (Meline) Hobbick. She grew up in Menomonie, where her beautiful singing voice often graced the airwaves, delighting radio listeners. On December 9, 1966, she married Arbor Goss in Menomonie. Together, they shared 46 loving years of marriage until Arbor's passing, raising four children: Leatha, Caroline, Mary, and Marty.
In addition to being a devoted mother, Irene held various jobs throughout her life, ultimately retiring from Sacred Heart Hospital after many years of dedicated service.
She found joy in flower gardening, baking, and the sweet sounds of country music. Country Fest was a highlight each year, as were lunches and plays with her beloved group of ladies. Whether playing bingo or simply sharing laughter, she filled every moment with warmth and love. Above all, her greatest joy was her FAMILY-her unwavering source of pride, purpose, and unconditional love.
Irene is survived by her children: Leatha (Dave) Spehle, Caroline (Mike) Robertson, Mary Roth, and Marty (Dawn) Goss; six grandchildren: Christina Glenz, Lacey (Shawn) Micek, Joseph (Michelle) Robertson, Patrick (Nellie) Robertson, Eliza Gore, and Brandon (Stacy) Powell; ten great-grandchildren: Dylan (Amanda) Sahm, Dawson Sahm, Misty Micek, Mabel Micek, Logan Robertson, Elliot Robertson, Xylis Robertson, Kloey Powell, Kyler Powell, and Kannon Powell; and one great-great-grandson, Jackson Sahm. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Shirley Bowe and Linda Hobbick, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arbor; four brothers: James, Patrick, Francis "Kelly," and Clement "Jack" Hobbick; her sister, Lorraine Manor; and her granddaughter, Nicole Roth.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Oakwood Health Services and Moments Hospice for their compassionate care.
