My best friend growing up was Steven. Mrs Hofmann was like a 2nd mother to me. I thought she was amazing and she actually was. I remember the last time I talked to her to inform her that my mother, Joanne, had passed and I called her Mrs Hofmann she said 'Oh, David, you can call me Irene.' I told her that I couldn't because I respected her to much to think of her as anything else and then she laughed that soft laugh of hers and called me silly. I will miss her as much as I miss my own mother. Rest well, Gert. Steven will understand what that means.

Irene was a dear friend for many years. We sang in choir together, served on many church committees, traveled around the world yearly for 10 years with other friends. Irene sang at my wedding , at the funerals of my parents and beloved husband. Her beautiful voice complimented her beautiful soul. My sympathy to her sons and grandson. Judy Dean
