Irene Legros Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holmes Funeral Directors on Oct. 10, 2025.
Visitation for Irene Legros of Haines City is Friday October 17, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Holmes Funeral Directors. Service is Saturday October 18, 2025, two hours before noon at First Christian Church of Haines City.
Irene was born on July 1, 1966, in Gonnaives, Haiti to Therese Monase and Joseph Assade. She moved to the United States in April 1997. At 30 years old, Irene courageously embarked on the journey of building a new life in the United States, all while nurturing a young family. No matter the challenges she faced, her strength never faltered-she met each moment with unwavering resilience and quiet determination. Irene was a lifelong learner, always willing to take on new challenges if it meant creating a better life for her family. In 2012, she completed an ESOL course through her workplace, working tirelessly to improve her English. Her determination paid off when she was recognized as "Student of the Semester". In addition to learning English, her 40's included other notable achievements such as getting her driver's license, and buying her first home in the U.S. Irene never let age or circumstance stand in her way. Her unwavering perseverance was one of her most admired qualities-an enduring testament to her strength and spirit. Irene spent the last 20 years working at Walt Disney World as a housekeeper. She was respected for her hard work, attention to detail, and positive attitude. Irene's caretaking extended to her personal life. Whether she was caring for her family or lending a hand to a friend in need, Irene consistently put others first. She was cherished for her kindness, unwavering loyalty, and gentle, peacekeeping spirit-a quiet force of compassion in the lives of those around her. She wanted everyone around her to get along and would make efforts to bring people together when there was conflict. Irene enjoyed cooking, singing with her church choir, and putting a smile on the faces of everyone around her. Irene is survived by her husband Marc, her 9 children Marckileine (Jake), Rose, Sherry (Iyobosa), Abdias, Chela, Ledjia, Emanuel, Emanuela, and Kimar, her sisters Lucilia, Lismene, Yvanne, and Celamise, her brothers Luckner, and Esaie, and her grandson Raphael. She is preceded in passing by her parents Joseph Assade and Therese Monase, her siblings Saintvil, Saint Victor Cenous, Elimene, and Elionise, her daughters Margaly and Terry, and her grandson Asiah. Though Irene is no longer with us, the love and care she poured into those around her continue to ripple through our lives. She will be remembered not only for her kindness, tenacity, and wisdom, but for the way she consistently placed the needs of others before her own. Irene lived with quiet strength and unwavering compassion, always making sure her family, friends, and community were cared for. Let us honor her legacy by living as she did-seeing the world through her generous eyes, meeting each challenge with grace, and lifting others up whenever we can. In every act of kindness, every moment of perseverance, and every step forward, she lives on through us.
