Mrs. Irene Elizabeth Mann, 84, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Irene was born September 7, 1941 in Cabarrus County. She was the daughter of the late Carrie Estell Aycock Porter.
Irene had an infectious laugh and a servants heart. For decades she was the jovial operator of what became affectionately known as "Nanny's Taxi" for her grandchildren. She spent many years volunteering and visiting the elderly. Irene was beloved by her family and friends and will forever hold a place in their hearts.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Jack F. Mann; daughter, Beverly Tucker (Jim) of Concord; son, Scott Mann (Chrep) of Charlotte; four grandchildren, Sonia Walter, Amanda Woods (Brandon), Jason Mann (Shannon) and Brett Mann (Elisabeth); and three great grandchildren, Madison, Dellen and Hailey.
Memorials can be made to Tucker Hospice House. A celebration of Irene's life to be held at a later date.
