Irene E. Mello (Plante) age 92, affectionately known as "Me Me," passed away peacefully at her home in Warren, RI, on November 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Warren, RI, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Eva D. (Forrest) Plante. Irene lived a life marked by devotion to her family.
Irene dedicated fifteen years of her working life as a factory worker at Converse Rubber.In her leisure time, Irene found joy in playing Bingo at Foxwoods.
Irene is survived by her family, who will forever hold her memory dear. Her survivors include her daughter, Toni D. Plemmons of Warren; a son, Henry J. Mello of Barrington; her grandchildren, Erica Perry, Kimberly Cardoso, Jennifer Cotoia, Krissy Waters, and Celine Cantin; great grandchildren, Vanessa Plemmons, Maya Perry, Caitlin Thivierge, Alyssa Cardoso, Corey Cardoso, Arthur Cardoso, Jr., Amelia Cotoia, Hadley Waters, Luke Waters, and Eloise Cantin; and a great grandson Brayden Costa. She was the mother of the late Wilfred A. "Fred" Mello and sister of the late Wilfred Plante, Jr., Albert Plante, Leo Plante, Raymond Plante, Robert Plante, Arthur Plante, Alice Marchand, Theresa Kation, and Doris Ramos.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Irene's graveside service at 11:30 am, on Monday, November 24, 2025, at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, located on Vernon Street in Warren, RI.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Warren Animal Shelter, 80 Wood Street, Warren, RI 02885.
