Irene Nefos Obituary
Irene Rose Nefos, 79, died suddenly and entered heaven on Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at Mary Washington Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her son, Terry Nefos.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley A. Nefos of Fredericksburg; two daughters, Susan Bromaghim and her husband, Skip, of Fredericksburg and Rosemary Bronder of Fredericksburg; her brother, Dr. William Ploumis and his wife, Eleni, of New York; her sister, Mary Arnold of Florida; four granddaughters, Alexis Bronder, Ashton Bronder, Kristen Bromaghim and Reanna McCall; two great-grandchildren, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2009, at the Greek Orthodox Church Nativity of the Theotokos with the Reverend John Katsoulis. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., with a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m., Friday, September 25, 2009, at Covenant Funeral Service, 4801 Jefferson Davis Highway, Fredericksburg, VA 22408.
Memorials may be made to the Greek Orthodox Church Nativity of the Theotokos, 12326 Spotswood Furnace Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22407-2207.

My dearest Yia Yia,
You always taught me to keep faith in our Lord but at times it is so hard when someone so dear and close to my heart is taken away. Yia Yia it is so hard to not have you here with me. I miss your warm hugs and soft olive skin and your kind heart. But I know that you will always be in my heart. I love you aways Yia Yia. Watch over me from heaven above and always be my guardian angel.

My dear sweet yia yia- I love and miss you so much! You spent 31 years being an amazing influence in my life and I will forever be grateful!
Rest peacefully and tell daddy how much I ache to see him one more time! But on a lighter note- the good Lord created his reincarnation and her name is Caroline!! She is a female, younger version of daddy!

It is with great sadness to hear of the passing of Aunt Irene. I'll always have great memories of all the visits to Charlottesville. I'll cherish those memories and know that her spirit will live on.
