Obituary of Irene E. O'Melia
Irene E. Williams O'Melia, 73, of Lansingburgh, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
Born in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Rosemary Morelli Williams and was a graduate of St. Peter's Academy in Troy and Troy High School.
Irene was predeceased on August 24, 2024 by her loving husband David J. O'Melia, Retired Captain, Troy Police Department and recently by her son Joseph D. "Joe" O'Melia on April 6, 2025.
Mrs. O'Melia had been a Teacher's Assistant employed by the Enlarged City School District of Troy at Carroll Hill Elementary School and previously at the former Eden Park Nursing Home in Troy.
Irene loved her family most of anything at all. She also enjoyed baking, sewing, making her own costumes, especially like watching TV in particular crime shows and the Turner Network Classic Movies. She and Dave enjoyed being members and attended functions at the Veterans of Lansingburgh.
Loving Mother to the late Joseph D. O'Melia and his wife Kathleen J. Koblensky O'Melia, and also to Kenneth O'Melia, cherished grandmother to Kevin Koblensky, Karen Koblensky, Kory Ratigan, Ryan O'Melia (Marilyn Sullivan) and Aiden O'Melia, and to Serena O'Melia and Madeline O'Melia, sister of Donald (Sharon) Williams, William (late, Marie) Williams, Raymond H. Williams, Harold (late, Dorothy) Williams and the late Rosemary (late, Raymond) Bradley and the late Christina (husband Charles) Spaulding, also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.
Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2025 and to the Funeral Service on Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. both in the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115 Street and Fourth Avenue in Lansingburgh), Troy, NY 12182.
