Irene G. Smith, age 77, of Lorain, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at O'Neill Health Care in North Ridgeville, Ohio following a lengthy illness.She was born August 5, 1946 to Billie and Elizabeth Wolford in Phelps, Kentucky.She enjoyed puzzle books and gardening. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and traveling to see her family.Surviving is her husband of 30 years, Densil Smith; daughters: Vivian (Robert) Bertram, Roberta (Del) Wolford, Regina Register; step-sons, Michael (Barbie) Smith and Brian (Rebecca) Smith; step-daughters:Tammy (Josh) Heidrich and Valerie Davison; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Tracy and sisters: Helen and Reba.She was preceded in death by both of her parents; step-daughter, Melissa Smith; brothers: Mack, Irvin, Gene, Melvin and a sister, Norma.The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 17 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Dovin Funeral & Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.
