Irene A. (Fontaine) Valentine

Irene A. (Fontaine) Valentine passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Sunday, July 28, 2013. She was 72 years of age. Irene was born in Arlington, MA on December 17, 1940 to the late Frank Fontaine & Alma (Wakeham) Fontaine. She was raised in Winchester and graduated from Winchester High School. Irene has been a resident of Melrose for over 40 years. Mrs. Valentine was a homemaker who in her younger years worked as a model and a singer. She was a loving and devoted mother to her son David and enjoyed singing and dancing. Irene was the loving mother of David Valentine of Melrose. Former wife of Edward Valentine. Sister of Peter, Bob, Paul, John, Eugene, Lawrence Fontaine and Alma Naviskas. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Tuesday, July 30th from 4:00-7:00PM, followed by a funeral service at 7:00PM. Interment at St. Patrick Cemetery in Stoneham.
