Iris Duree Culp Barrier, 88, of Mount Pleasant, N.C., passed away Tuesday June 10, 2025 at her home.
Private graveside service will be held at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Iris was born in Cabarrus County January 16, 1937, to the late Robert Lee and Audrey Honeycutt Culp. She was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church. She worked for many years in healthcare as a registered nurse, working at both Cabarrus Memorial Hospital and the VA Hospital in Salisbury, N.C. In addition to her parents, her husband Bobby E. Barrier preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Smith (Eric); son Steven Deal (Cyndi); sister, Leona Brown (Glenn); nephew, Brian Hatley (Julie); grandchildren, Elliott Smith (Alaina), Evan Smith, Hannah Smith (Dylan McSwain), Alex Deal (Samantha) and Thomas Deal; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Evelyn, and Henry Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, 4401 St. Stephen's Church Rd., Gold Hill NC 28071.
